I’m David, and Travinyx is my software business.

Most of the businesses I work with have the same shape of problem. The work is good, the customers are there, and the thing losing them money is a message nobody answered, a reminder nobody sent, or an evening a week spent copying things between a diary and a spreadsheet.

Before going independent I spent nineteen months as a data analyst in facilities management, building the Power BI dashboards a business ran on and working against the SQL underneath them. That job taught me the useful half of this work: what a business actually needs to see, and how much of what it currently does by hand doesn’t need doing at all.

There are no account managers here and nothing gets handed to someone junior, because there is nobody else. That’s the trade: you get the person who built it, and I take on fewer projects than an agency would.
